It can be quite over-whelming starting with both upright and reversed meanings when you are new to Tarot, so it is usually best to learn the upright cards first until you have a firm understanding of the numerous dimensions and aspects involved in a card. To understand the many facets of that card in different positions and different spreads is also helpful. This allows you to add your own meaning to the card through your experience, rather than simply following the often dogmatic meanings from a Tarot card book.

Introducing reversed cards to your Tarot spreads can be extremely beneficial for a number of reasons. Firstly it increase the breadth and depth of your reading ability and opens your readings up to another seventy-six new meanings,. Secondly, using reversed cards can enlight when you feel you have learnt all you need to know already and open a new door to Tarot study. Lastly, most Tarot boards, such as the Tarot Certification Board, require readers to be able to read reversed cards in order to progress in certification and recognition.

There are a number of ways you can introduce reversed cards to your Tarot deck. You can shuffle first, then split the deck in two and turn one half upside-down. Until you are satisfied the cards are well reversed, continue doing this. You can also use this method to ensure that different cards get reversed for different readings when doing readings.

Allow your cards to naturally reverse themselves so you can take a more passive approach. For example, the client may accidentally place the cards back upside-down when a card may fall out and you place it back without checking it is the right way up. However, it will take a longer time for your cards to reversed themselves, and the same cards may stay reversed for a long time.

My answer is positive “yes!!” Here’s why…..

If you are going to spend years of your life learning about the tarot cards, their levels of meaning, their differing interpretations, the working peculiarities of different layouts, you will spend many many hours in study. Of course many of this will be enlightening, fascinating and do great help to your own development. But some of it will be very hard work indeed.

Think of that the permutations on a theme with 78 cards, each with several layers of meaning, you will have to understand completely. Types of layout with its own quirks and oddities demanding that you comprehend its working thoroughly. Each layout having different placements for the cards, each of which will slightly alter its meaning. And of course you read one or more card positions against each other which is demanded by certain layouts …..starting to fetch the idea??

Next,if you’ll read for people, you will also have to counsel them to a degree. You can’t go telling a person to alter every single aspect of their life without both relating to their personal needs, and giving them support. To outline important options for them, approach telling them difficult things carefully, help them to think of themselves as adequate and worthy human beings is what you need to do. So you will have to understand quite a bit about how people work and how they can get their needs fulfilled.

The work to invest in your psychic development is also you have to do. People WILL be able to read Tarot if he is willing to put in the dedicated study to understand decks and cards,. The difference between the good Tarot reader and the great Tarot reader is entirely dependent on their psychic ability.

To read Tarot is NOT a gift. It is a hard-earned and responsible skill. It takes years to reach the extent that you are able to read efficiently. At this point, you can see yourself as an expert. And you have every right to charge a fee for the service you perform like all other professionals who have trained in other areas!!

This is an issue I have often wondered about so far as Tarot reading is concerned. To the extent where, later, they act out the details of the reading they have been given, how much power does the reader have to subconsciously affect the querent?

Under normal circumstances,The process of Tarot reading is a very intimate one, both parties are receptive and open at a psychic level. This being so, any information imparted during the reading period will infiltrate quite deeply into the mind of the querent. It is, therefore, possible that afterward the querent will behave in accordance with the reading given, thereby creating the events they were told would take place.

This would certainly be very influential when you do the sort of reading where you tell a person that they will undertake a course of action they had never previously contemplated. Most experienced tarot readers will have, on many occasions, predicted things in readings that the querent rejects as ‘something I have never even considered’. But of course they are bound to consider it once the idea is there aren’t they?

Looking back over my own experiences, I recall the querent who believed she wasn’t ‘clever enough’ to undertake extended study. Her reading indicated subsequent success ad dedicated work. Last year, She left University with degree in hand. She said that reading is the thing that really made her start seriously considering study…so…in this case,self-fulfilling prophecy.

A tarot reader’s words can surface in a querent’s mind at the most unlikely times. With unpredictable consequences. About what we say to our querents-they are, in some ways, at our mercy,we have a special obligation to be very thoughtful. Most specifically we need to be sure to temper every single reading we give with love, respect and compassion. Peoples’ lives can be changed literally by reading for them.

It means that to leave the querent feeling as positive and hopeful as possible ,we have a duty to attempt, no matter what we find in a reading.

As a Tarot reader, I’ve used my cards to answer a lot of ‘outward looking’ questions – anything from locating stolen property to predicting real estate purchases. Of course, the Tarot are wonderful for answering this type of question, but they are also perfectly suited to answering ‘inward looking’ questions. In other words, they are useful for examining our motivations, thoughts and emotions. For someone like myself, interested in personal development, they are a veritable gold mine of information!

I first became aware of this when I was still in the learning stages with Tarot card books. I’d read that it is important to take note of any patterns we see in the cards, and of the interactions of the cards. As you know, it’s often the case that an individual will repeatedly draw a certain card that acts as a ’significator’ – a card that represents them in a spread. In my own case, while a friend might repeatedly draw the King of Wands, etc, the Queen of Swords most often came up.

But what, I wondered, could this tell me about myself? And how useful could this information be? Over time,I found more interesting answers.

When a Tarot spread indicated that others are seeing me as the Queen of Wands, for example, I can interpret this in a number of ways (by queuing on this Queen and the other cards involved). My confidence may intimidate Others or they may feel that I can be looked to for honest answers. If I’m seen as the Queen of Cups, they may think I’m a ‘push-over’ or see me as artistic. And if I am the Queen of Pentacles, there’s a chance they feel I’m too materialistic or admire my parenting techniques. Knowing this,to open dialogue on common ground, depending on the situation, I can make the choice to use these interpretations to adjust my behavior.

This has to be the one card in the Tarot deck that most, if not all, people fear seeing in a reading, and yet it isn’t as dark and macabre as one might think, which is why some Tarot readers have named this card ‘Transformation’ in their Tarot decks.

How would you feel if I was to say ‘Oh look, you are about to experience a transformation in your life’? Would you be as spooked as if you simply saw the Death card as your outcome card?

I am in the process of creating the Lotus Tarot deck and I will be naming this card ‘Transformation’ because I believe it portrays the true meaning of this card far better and without evoking the chills that the title ‘Death’ card does.

It is thought as someone is going to die when the ‘Death’ card which many people thought commonly that predicting a physical death appears in a reading. Cases is highly unlikely, this, in most, if not all.

I am not a medium or clairvoyant, but I do use the Tarot card books to help give men and women around the world some insights into their own situations and to look at their lives from a different perspective. Let me give you some examples: one of the greatest blows any of us can receive, man or woman, is when we fall utterly in love with someone only to be rejected and left alone. many of You may have such experiences and feel like your world has fallen apart.

Transformational change within us can be created by such incidences, our outlook and our approach to love and relationships are being changed. For example, if someone, who didn’t love you, lets you go, it can open up a whole new set of circumstances and opportunities for you.

Numerous case histories go to show that people who have been bankrupt and who have lost everything only to change course and tactics and go on to achieve great success.

For me, it is only the sign that it is time for something new to be created whether it be a relationship, job, career or lifestyle. If I am no longer in that relationship, I am free to pursue new love. {If I have lost my job, I am free to look for a better one and so on}.

The tale of the Phoenix sums up the meaning of the Death card quite well, where a bird dies in the flames only to emerge and fly out of the fire transformed into something far greater.

So when the Death card appears, don’t fear it. It’s the sign of something in your life may come to an end. The transition may be challenging but as the end comes to pass a new beginning will present itself.

When learning to read tarot cards, you’ll first want to make sure you’re not distracted by anything going on in your mind or in the room around you. Focusing on your breath is an effective technique to do that. This essential if you want tarot made easy. Your results will be much better if you approach the tarot with a clear head.

With that always in mind, the next step is to determine which type of tarot cards you prefer. Many types have images, which have styles that suit virtually any taste. That aspect actually isn’t that important, but if it makes you feel more at home with the deck, that’s a good thing.

When you’ve chosen the tarot card design that suits you, you’ll need to get to know the individual card meanings. To facilitate this, a book written by an expert is helpful. Many beginners seem to get a lot out of the book, Learning The Tarot, by Joan Bunning. This book or one in a similar vein will get you started. No matter which book you buy, you’ll want to read it through to the end and then put it aside when it comes to reading the cards.

You’re better off putting the book away because your instinctive hunches are the most important thing when reading tarot cards. You’ll now need to study the cards to develop your own interpretations of them. Strangely enough, people’s intuitive interpretations often match the book descriptions.

Tarot readings aren’t like astrology info or telephone psychic readings. When you’re finally ready to do a reading, a few different approaches can be used. You’ll find one of the easiest ways to start is to utilize the card-a-day technique. With this method, one card is chosen each day, which represents how the day will turn out. You can also do what is called the constellation. To use the constellation, you would look at the cards of various suits that have the same prime number (numbers one through nine). Line up all the cards with one number in front of you. Note how you feel about each of them. Do this with each set of numbered cards. Getting to know the cards like this will help your readings go more smoothly.

People always come to ask me if God was really punishing them or why the predictions didn’t come true for them. It all boils down to taking responsibility for our own lives as I’ve come to learn down the ages,. More vital half resides in all of us as human beings on this planet, the knowledge a tarot reader, numerologist, astrologer or psychic can offer is only half the story,. Going to someone for predictions means walking out their door applying their insights in a workable way.

Example:

A rather gentle man seems about 25 year old came to me for a reading. He looked at me and then at the deck of cards and asked "When will I get a job?”

The Tarot was based on the present moment and the energies that surround him right now, and could not offer him an exact date ,when I mentioned these,he began to raise his voice. He paid my fees by borrowing money. And about when exactly he would get a job, his last hope is tarot.I flip a card. It was hopeless. another. Bleaker. I had a strong feeling he was waiting for Lady Luck to come swooping down on him to whisk him away into an air conditioned cubicle in a swank building.

When he left that afternoon, I noticed a subtle shift in his energies. He is eager to rewrite his resume and contact placement agents. And when he called 2 months later to tell me he had been hired by a MNC I knew he was enroute to success. I wished him well.

The planetary position is favourable or the time is right for us to move in a certain direction is the things the beautiful thing about the planets and the cards tell us. Our lives can not be ruled by the cards. Nor can they set interviews for us or type out resumes. At the end of the day,if we want to get ahead only ourselves can help.

So is there anything to zodiac compatibility. Does your astrological sign really have anything to do with who your ideal mate is. Or who can be the best friend for you. Is there a reason why some siblings are rivals for life, while others are as close as twins.

Consider the writer, who is a Virgo, although an atypical Virgo (we think). Her sister is a Capricorn, and according to the astrology experts, we should be in tune with Capricorns. And in fact, the writer and her sister and quite literally opposite sides of the same coin. We have the same dreams! And we know when the other is in trouble of some kind. We will call each other at odd times, only to discover that the other was in trouble, or needed help or advice or counsel. We dont know it consciously, but it just works out that way.

Then there was her husband, or ex-husband, to be more exact. He was a Libra and perhaps we should have done some research into astrology before we got married. In one article we read, under Libra, it said No chance. How true, how true!

So should you make the decision about your life partner based on astrology. Well, it doesnt hurt to do some dispassionate examination before taking such a big step. While you might not want to reject someone on the basis of his birth date, a good horoscope CAN help you out with some clues to his or her nature that you might not pick up on all by yourself. And when they do something that completely mystifies you, perhaps a little basic knowledge of astrology will help you decipher whats going on and help you communicate better. And thats never a bad thing, no matter what resource youre using for better communication.

Now sometimes, were not too sure just how right-on these astrological profiles are. I mean, consider Virgo (August 23 September 22), your intrepid authors sign. Virgos are universally considered to be very buttoned-down, methodical and detail-oriented. Geesh. Meticulous and reliable. I have to wonder if my mother didnt lie about my birthdate. Im about as flaky and they come and as far as methodical is concerned, I never do anything the same way twice.

Anyway, for you archetypical Virgos, heres your profile, according to the experts.
Now intelligent and analytical, we can agree with. It does say that were shy and can be difficult to land as a partner. Maybe thats why were writing this on a Saturday night when all those Aquarius and Pisces are out there living it up.

The age of Virgo in the astrologers Great Year took place circa 13000-10750 BCE. Not too much going on there. It was the end of the Ice Age (well, were also considered cool and aloof it figures). It was also marked by spawning the hunter-gatherer culture and clay pottery has been discovered in artifacts from this period of time. This also marked the first use of agriculture by Maner, WOMAN. Virgo IS represented by a woman, you know. The only zodiac sign that does so.

The best match for Virgo is Capricorn and the worst is Aquarius. One thing some experts say about the Virgo is that while they appear cool and aloof on the outside, they may be hiding emotion that is almost too intense. Were so grateful someone recognizes this that we may have to briefly disappear and weep in a corner somewhere for a few minutes.

Some of our favorite authors and other celebrated figures were also Virgos. Leonard Bernstein, Mary Godwin Shelley (author of Frankenstein), Margaret Trudeau andMickey Mouse!
